Aside from the standard extension update process, no information is sent from your computer by GeckoTIP at any time.

If the user EXPLICITLY sets a specific input scope for a text field using the statusbar menu, GeckoTIP will save the input scope preference, including the related website, in a human-readable format in Firefox's preferences data. This information could be used to determine websites visited in the past even after your history and cookies are cleared. To avoid this, simply do not set an explicit input scope on a website you do not want stored in preferences.

Scope preference information can be viewed and removed by typing "about:config" into the Firefox address bar and filtering on the "geckotip.scope" preference branch. To remove an entry, right click it and select "reset". It will be gone when Firefox is restarted.
